      Introduction Text
Delve into the historical context of WB Yeats’s poetry with this workshop on the poems “September 1913” and “Easter 1916”.
This workshop includes an introduction to Yeats and his life, a reading of each poem, and an examination of what led Yeats to write those poems, using items from the National Library of Ireland’s collection to tell the story.
Students will gain a stronger understanding of the two poems in the workshop, and are invited to join in reading the poems.
Suitable for all post-primary students, with particular interest for those studying English and History.
