Opening Hours
The National Library of Ireland is located at four buildings in Dublin city centre.
Notice re: limited access to NLI, Kildare St - Wednesday, 18th September & Thursday, 19th September Due to potential access issues and anticipated congestion in the Kildare Street area on Wednesday, 18th September and on Thursday 19th September, our WB Yeats Exhibition will be closed to visitors. The Main Reading Room, Manuscripts Reading Room and Family History Reading Room will remain open to readers. Please note that you may be required to present your reader’s ticket to gain access to the building. Access to the National Library is only possible via Nassau Street. Our People & Places exhibition at the National Photographic Archive (Meeting House Square, Temple Bar) and Seamus Heaney: Listen Now Again at the Bank of Ireland Cultural and Heritage Centre (Westmoreland Street) will remain open as usual. |

A reader’s ticket is required to access all reading rooms and research spaces. You may apply for a reader’s ticket using our online application form.

Tuesday - Wednesday: 9.30am - 7pm
Saturdays: 9.30am - 1pm on the following dates.
