The National Library of Ireland (NLI) hosted the annual Joseph Hassett Yeats Lecture on Tuesday, 13th June 2023. A video recording of the lecture is now available online.

To mark the birth of William Butler Yeats on 13 June 1865, and the 100th anniversary of the Nobel Prize award, Professor Margaret Kelleher delivered this year’s Joseph Hassett Yeats lecture in the main Reading Room of the NLI.

The lecture is entitled "Ireland's Interpreter" and "Europe's Welcome": WB Yeats and the Nobel Prize in Literature, 1923, and was live-streamed at the time of the event. The evening lecture was introduced by the Director of the NLI, Dr Audrey Whitty with concluding remarks from Dr Joseph Hassett.
