To celebrate the joy of speaking and listening to poetry, the National Library of Ireland and Poetry Ireland have organised the Poetry Aloud Poetry Speaking Competition for post-primary school students since 2007.

The competition is open to all students attending a second-level school on the island of Ireland. The closing date for submission is Friday, 30th September. In order to avoid any potential disruption, the first round of Poetry Aloud 2022 will consist of a virtual competition in lieu of on-site regional heats.
