Black-and-white photograph of a young Seamus Heaney sitting on grass in a rural field, smiling at the camera. He wears a striped long-sleeve shirt, trousers, and lace-up boots, with his arms loosely wrapped around his knees. Tree branches with leaves hang above him, and a wooden gate stands in the background.
In Person

'...Rose-fingered dawn's and navy midnight's flower.
Seed packets to begin with, ...'

Join us as we welcome Dr Paul Cusack, former Principal of the College of Amenity Horticulture at the National Botanic Gardens to the Seamus Heaney: Listen Now Again exhibition.

Dr Cusack will explore and share insights to the rich plant life that features throughout Heaney’s work, exploring how Ireland’s flora helped shape some of his most evocative poetry. Woven together with readings of Heaney’s poems, this event brings audiences closer to the natural landscapes that inspired his writing—an invitation to experience the beauty of his words alongside the plants that rooted them.

Image of Dr Cusack smiling warmly at the camera. He is wearing a dark blazer over a light blue striped shirt. Behind him is a teal-colored backdrop and a partially visible poster with text.
