Photographer Paula T. Nolan embarked on an extraordinary year-long journey across all 26 counties of the Republic of Ireland for her award-winning project, ‘ReViewing Ireland: A Photo Study of Ireland’s Environment'. Travelling exclusively by public transport and e-bike, Nolan documented the landscapes, communities, and environmental realities she encountered along the way.
The result is a compelling visual narrative, part documentary, part adventure, and part environmental time capsule, offering an intimate and thought-provoking portrait of Ireland today.
Commissioned to mark the EPA’s 30th anniversary, the project highlights both the positive progress and ongoing challenges in Ireland’s environmental story. The NLI is honoured to include Nolan's award-winning work in the national collections of Ireland. Almost 400 striking photographs have now been digitised and published through the NLI catalogue making them available for all to view online.
