In Person

Join us as Marco Sonzogni and Matthew Hollis explore Seamus Heaney’s celebrated achievements in literary translation

Drawing on their close collaboration in the compilation and editing of The Translations of Seamus Heaney (2022), Marco Sonzogni and Matthew Hollis will discuss their work in curating this landmark volume which stands as a testament to Seamus Heaney’s long investment and celebrated achievements in literary translation. Spanning languages, centuries and contexts, Heaney’s translation practice will be explored in this seminar through close attention to a selection of texts.

This seminar is offered as part of 'First Principles: Editing Seamus Heaney', a collaboration between the School of English at Trinity College Dublin and the National Library of Ireland’s Seamus Heaney: Listen Now Again exhibition.

Details and tickets for the events on Saturday 7th November are available here
