July Public Tours | Welcome Tour

Join us for a free introductory welcome tour of the National Library.
This tour provides an introduction to the history and work of the National Library of Ireland. It includes details on our founding, the building's architecture, as well as information on the library services available to the public.
Concluding with an introduction to the The Life and Works of W.B Yeats exhibition, visitors are invited to finish their visit with an audio highlights tour to further explore the poetry of William Butler Yeats.
This tour is suitable for new and regular library users and lasts approximately 30 minutes with the opportunity for questions throughout. Meet your tour guide in the entrance hall of the main building on Kildare Street.
Please note: A visit to the main Reading Room is not included as part of this tour. This tour is operated on a first come basis for the first 25 visitors.
