February 2016 - March 2017

The National Library of Ireland completed a major digitisation project on archives related to the seven signatories of the 1916 Proclamation. A selection of this fascinating content featured in the exhibition Signatories, in our Main Hall on Kildare Street, throughout 2016 - the centenary of the 1916 Easter Rising.

Visitors were introduced to the lives of the seven men who signed the Proclamation through a selection of original photographs and documents. Signatories allowed everyone to learn more about these men, and the women who worked alongside them. The display also featured a focus on the staff of the National Library of Ireland in 1916, and revealed how they too were caught up in the year's events.
