A Modern Eye: Helen Hooker O’Malley’s Ireland – Meeting House Square, Temple Bar

FREE exhibition, open every day

Monday-Saturday 10:00-16:45; Sundays/public holidays 12:00-16:45

The National Library of Ireland has partnered with the Gallery of Photography Ireland to present A Modern Eye: Helen Hooker O'Malley's Ireland.

This gives a fascinating insight into a modern, independent woman’s creative vision of post-Independence Ireland. It is the first major retrospective of the photographic work of American-born Helen Hooker O’Malley (1905-1993). Visitors can see more than 120 photographs across the two venues that capture Helen’s decades-long love affair with the landscape, history, and people of Ireland – plus previously unseen work from Helen's travels in Russia and the Far East. See a little taster of the exhibition here...

A Modern Eye extends across the National Library of Ireland's photographic exhibition gallery, and the Gallery of Photography, both in Meeting House Square, Temple Bar.
