Performance: Girls in Silk Kimonos

Dublin Lyric Players in association with the National Library present this play by the late Miriam Gallagher based on the correspondence between Constance Markievicz and her sister Eva Gore-Booth.

The acting team comprises Mia Gallagher and Una McNulty in the roles of Constance and Eva respectively; and Declan Brennan in the role of Narrator. The reading is directed by Conor O'Malley with music by Ciaran Tourish of Áltan and MJ Sullivan sings 'James Connolly' by Patrick Galvin "... the hero of each working man ...".
The play (originated as a radio play) is semi documentary in style, focuses on Constance’s political life in 1918 with her election to Westminster parliament.
