Venue: Bank of Ireland Cultural and Heritage Centre at College Green – entrance via Westmoreland Street

Dr Richard Rank in Russell from Baylor University will consider how Seamus Heaney revisited and reimagined his native ground near Bellaghy, Northern Ireland while living most of his adult life in Dublin. For Heaney, place was not a static category, but a site of dynamism, and this lecture attends to his ongoing engagement with these changing places in his poetry.
