Board Committees

Statutory Committees

In accordance with the provisions of the National Cultural Institutions Act 1997, the Board has established two statutory Board Committees, reporting to the Board. These include the Readers Advisory Committee and the Committee on Genealogy and Heraldry.

Readers Advisory Committee

The main function of the Readers Advisory Committee is to advise the Board on matters relating to the provision of services by the Library.

Committee on Genealogy and Heraldry

The main function of the Genealogy and Heraldry Committee is to advise the Board on matters arising from the Board's statutory powers and functions in the areas of genealogy and heraldry. The Director of the National Library of Ireland and Chief Herald of Ireland are non-voting members of the Committee.

Non-Statutory Committee

Audit & Risk Committee

The main function of the Audit & Risk Committee is to oversee the internal audit function and advise the Board in relation to the operation and development of that function.
