In Person

"You hear something in another writer's sounds that flows in ... and delights your whole nervous system"

Celebrate World Poetry Day at Seamus Heaney: Listen Now Again with a creative workshop inspired by the words of Seamus Heaney and the writers who shaped his voice.

This engaging session introduces the art of Blackout (or erasure) poetry—an imaginative form that begins not with a blank page, but with an existing text. Working directly with Heaney's poems and those who inspired him, participants will gradually uncover new meanings by selecting and erasing words, discovering their own poems hidden within his lines.

Blending insight with creativity, this workshop offers a welcoming space to experiment with language, overcome the fear of the blank page, and gain fresh perspective on Heaney’s craft. Discover how your own voice can emerge through conversation with one of Ireland’s most cherished poets—and those who inspired him.
