TY Reveal 2026

Applications are open from today (10th November) for TY: REVEAL Illustration: Bringing Books to Life until 26^th November. Interested TY students are invited to apply through the online form below.

TY: REVEAL is designed to introduce students to the special and unique collections of the National Library of Ireland, to become familiar with using the library and to continue using it into their future studies. In 2026 the programme is titled Illustration: Bringing Books to Life and will focus on the the Prints and Drawings collection. With illustration as its theme, the programme will appeal to students who are interested in visual art, graphic design, history, literature, creative writing, media studies and library studies.

Participants will learn about the library and its vast collections which hold ‘the memory of Ireland’, gaining access to the magnificent reading room which dates from 1890. Students will delve into the library collections to research areas of interest and will also explore a range of image making techniques through a series of practical, artist-led workshops. They will take inspiration from the collections, each other and the building itself. Participants will be guided by a facilitator throughout the programme and will work towards a final event to reveal and display their discoveries.

TY: REVEAL 2026 will take place on Tuesdays 10am – 3pm, over ten weekly sessions on the following dates:

• 31/03/26

Six days of the course will take place onsite at NLI and four will take place online. Participants travelling from outside Dublin will have their transport expenses covered.

The application deadline is 26/11/25 at 11:59pm.

We encourage everyone to apply but please note that there are limited places available on the course. Participants must be aged 16 or over.
