National Library of Ireland to Co-host iPRES 2030

iPRES (the International Conference on Digital Preservation) is the leading global gathering for digital preservation professionals. Since 2004, experts from around the world have shared research, practice and solutions at this annual conference.

In 2030, we'll welcome delegates to Ireland as part of an all-island consortium that includes the Digital Repository of Ireland (DRI), Guinness Archive (Diageo), Public Records of Northern Ireland (PRONI), and RTÉ Archives. The conference theme Collogue and Meitheal reflects the hosts commitment to collaboration and shared goals in preserving digital heritage for future generations.

Head of Digital Collections: Eoghan Ó Carragáin the National Library of Ireland, said:

Hosting iPRES 2030 is an opportunity to learn from international colleagues and to strengthen partnerships across Ireland and beyond. Collaboration whether it's sharing technical knowledge, developing standards, or building infrastructure is essential if we're to ensure long-term access to born-digital collections and web archives."

From broken URLs to obsolete file formats, the task of preserving digital content grows daily. This conference will bring together the expertise needed to tackle these challenges and safeguard our digital heritage.
