In celebration of National Drawing Day at Seamus Heaney: Listen Now Again
Join us at Seamus Heaney: Listen Now Again in celebration of National Drawing Day 2025 for a lecture by Kenneth Donfield, on the great drawings of Irish Artists, including Jack B. Yeats, Mary Swanzy, Sean O'Sullivan, Flora Mitchell and more.
Following the lecture, you will have the chance to draw inspiration from these great artists in a still-life drawing class with Kenneth held in the stunning Rotunda.
This class will be an hour and a half and is open to all levels. The materials will be pencil or charcoal and A3 paper.

Kenneth Donfield is an Irish portrait painter and educator who has taught at NCAD since 1985, specialising in classical and atelier techniques for portrait and life painting. A recipient of the RDS Taylor Scholarship and a postgraduate scholarship to the Art Students League of New York, he has painted official portraits of prominent figures including an ex-Taoiseach, Dr. Michael Smurfit, and Michael O’Leary. Kenneth has exhibited at the RHA, RUA (winning the RUA Portrait Prize in 1997), and is a member of the Dublin Painting and Sketching Club and the Ulster Watercolour Society. He currently exhibits at Trinity Gallery and is preparing a series of 15 portraits for a major 2025 exhibition.
