Typography Tour of the National Library of Ireland

Discover the National Library, through the history of letters, materials and architectural details found within the building
We will start at the gate of the Library on Kildare Street, where our first letters mark the site, and work our way through the building, looking at stained glass, mosaic and stonework. The tour will conclude in the famous Reading Room, where we will examine some typographic pieces from the collections. Emma Conway, the NLI's in-house graphic designer, will draw your attention to letterforms spotted within the architecture of the building. She will examine their significance, tracing the history of their production and their relevance to telling the story of the Library.
This tour is running in conjunction with Open House. Spaces are limited, please book early.
