National Photographic Archive
The National Library's photographic collections comprising over 600,000 photographs, are now housed in the National Photographic Archive in Temple Bar. The Archive includes darkrooms and a state-of-the-art storage space. An exhibition area, retail space, and a Reading Room facilitate access to collections both historical and contemporary, the majority of which are Irish.
The award-winning building was designed by the Dublin architectural practice O'Donnell & Tuomey and first opened to the public in 1998.
