The Wiltshire Collection of 1,000 negatives and 300 prints spans a twenty-year period from 1951. The bulk of the images feature Dublin, providing a view of life in the capital during that period. They were taken by Elinor Wiltshire of the Green Studios in Dublin.
Surrogate reference copies of the prints are available in the National Photographic Archive Reading Room. Detailed catalogue entries for the whole collection can be found on the Library's Online Catalogue for the collection and some of the entries are accompanied by scanned images.
During the summer of 1999, the Archive held a very popular exhibition of the Wiltshire photographs If Ever You Go To Dublin Town and a companion book of the same title was published in October 1999.
