Women's History

There are collections relating to women’s rights including female suffrage, such as the Sheehy Skeffington Collection and the Rosamund Jacob Collection. There are also papers relating to the Ladies Land League, the Irish Women Workers’ Union, Cumann na mBan, and the Council for the Status of Women, as well as the Irish Countrywomen’s Association Archive, 1950-1990.

A research guide to Women in Irish History in the National Library of Ireland outlines the procedure to locate sources for researching women’s history and provides a brief description and contextual background of relevant manuscript collections (see Manuscript Research Guides)
