The National Library of Ireland holds the single largest collection of Irish documentary material in the world and, as such, is a valuable resource for undergraduates across a range of disciplines. The Library encourages visits from third-level class groups and in the past has worked with such groups through its exhibitions, library tours and by providing access to Library material through specially-arranged sessions with curatorial staff.

The James Joyce Summer School
The National Library has worked with the James Joyce Summer School since 2004 when its acclaimed exhibition, James Joyce and Ulysses at the National Library of Ireland, was opened. This collaboration has developed over the years to include talks and lectures at the Library as well as workshops with NLI staff where students have come face to face with the manuscripts and early printed editions of the works they are studying. This year, the Library also sponsored a scholarship to the summer school. This was awarded to Caroline Elbay, an MA student at Trinity College Dublin.
