Dix Collection of Irish Printing

E.R McClintock Dix, a Dublin solicitor and leading figure in the Gaelic revival, presented his collection to the library in the early decades of this century. The collection consists of 8,000 books and pamphlets and reflects this distinguished bibliographer's interest in the history of Irish printing. Imprints from the major Irish cities and towns up to the early 20th century are well represented but the strength of this collection also lies in the large amount of material from provincial presses throughout the country.

This collection has the shelf number I (or Ir) 6551 and/or Dix.
