Reproduction of Library Material
The reproduction of National Library material by publication (irrespective of the media format), by transmission or broadcast, or for display in a public area, is subject to the permission of the Board of the National Library of Ireland and to the payment of the relevant fee.
Permission to reproduce material from the collections must be sought in advance in writing from the Board of the National Library of Ireland.
The request for permission should contain the following information:
- The title and library reference of the item being reproduced
- The format of the proposed reproduction
- The print run (if a published work) and
- The area of distribution – EU or Worldwide
If an image is to be used for television, film or electronic media, please supply broadcast details, the title of the programme and the producers.
All reproduced material must carry the acknowledgement "Courtesy of the National Library of Ireland" and quote the relevant reference number.
Permission to display, publish or broadcast any item in the National Library of Ireland’s Printed or Visual Collections must be sought in advance in writing from:
