New Alan Gilsenan Film on WB Yeats to Screen at Jameson Dublin International Film Festival

Award-winning filmmaker, theatre director and frequent contributor to the National Library of Ireland, Alan Gilsenan, will see his new film ‘A Vision: A Life of WB Yeats’ screened at the 2014 Jameson Dublin International Film Festival, which runs from 13th to 23rd February. His film, commissioned for the Arts Council’s Reel Art Scheme, uses only the words of Yeats himself to document the life and work of the poet.

Since 2004, Alan Gilsenan has had a strong connection to the NLI. His production company ‘Yellow Asylum’ created the short films about Yeats that feature in our exhibition ‘Yeats: The Life and Work of William Butler Yeats’.  The company also produced a number of short films as part of the acclaimed exhibition, ‘James Joyce and Ulysses at the National Library of Ireland’, and Gilsenan has given a number of talks at the Library in recent years.

‘A Vision: A Life of WB Yeats’ will be screened at the Irish Film Institute on Wednesday, 19th February, at 6.30pm. Further Information and tickets are available here.
