New Alan Gilsenan Film on WB Yeats to Screen at Jameson Dublin International Film Festival
Award-winning filmmaker, theatre director and frequent contributor to the National Library of Ireland, Alan Gilsenan, will see his new film ‘A Vision: A Life of WB Yeats’ screened at the 2014 Jameson Dublin International Film Festival
, which runs from 13th to 23rd February. His film, commissioned for the Arts Council’s Reel Art Scheme
, uses only the words of Yeats himself to document the life and work of the poet.
Since 2004, Alan Gilsenan has had a strong connection to the NLI. His production company ‘Yellow Asylum’ created the short films about Yeats that feature in our exhibition ‘Yeats: The Life and Work of William Butler Yeats’
. The company also produced a number of short films as part of the acclaimed exhibition, ‘James Joyce and Ulysses at the National Library of Ireland’, and Gilsenan has given a number of talks at the Library in recent years.
