Summer's Wreath 2009

Highly acclaimed stage and screen actor Lorcan Cranitch opens Summers Wreath 09, a four-week programme of events marking the life of WB Yeats and the 70th year since Yeats’ death, at the National Library of Ireland on Tuesday, June 9th with a lunchtime reading and reflection. 

Bob Geldof KBE, Neil Jordan, Professor Roy Foster, Edna O’Brien, Fiona Shaw CBE, Adrian Dunbar, Robert Ballagh, Robert O’Byrne, Jennifer Johnston, Marina Carr, Nick Miller, Mike Scott and Steve Wickham of The Waterboys are also included in the line-up for this year’s programme.

A one-day immersion course for amateurs and lovers of poetry will also be held at the Library on Monday, June 22nd and two special preproduction performances of The Tower by Joe Joyce starring Bosco Hogan and Tom Hickey and directed by Caroline FitzGerald, will take place on Thursday and Friday, June 11th and 12th at 1pm.
