Cruinniú na Cásca celebrated at the National Library

The National Library was  delighted to be part of Cruinniú na Cásca on Easter Monday. This Creative Ireland event attracted over 500,000 people to celebrate creativity and culture across the country.

Hundreds of visitors came to the National Library to visit the beautiful reading room, enjoy our free exhibitions, and hear free 45-minute sessions of pop-up talks throughout the day.  Alongside talks from our own staff, we were delighted to welcome Peter Browne (Presenter of The Rolling Wave on RTÉ Radio One), and representatives from the Irish Traditional Music Archive, as well as UCD Folklore Archivists who shared audio gems from the National Folklore Collection
