Man, Woman and Child Project
Man, Woman and Child is a research and performance project devised and co-ordinated by Michael Fortune featuring traditional singers, Luke Cheevers, Niamh Parsons, John and Brigid Tunney, Mick Fowler, Rosie Stewart, Tim Lyons, Aileen Lambert and Jerry O’Reilly.  This project is based on The Child Ballad Collection: a collection of traditional songs gathered by the American collector Francis J Child in England and Scotland between 1882 and 1898. Many of the songs, or variants of them, are sung in the Irish tradition. This is the first project of this kind to be undertaken in Ireland.

Approximately fifty songs will be performed over four nights along with a comprehensive talk on Child Ballads in Ireland by singer Jerry O’Reilly.
