The Kitchen Archives
From spoon to screen: the whys and hows of food blogging.
Panel discussion chaired by Aoife Carrigy
Food writer and blogger Aoife Carrigy (holymackerel.ie) will be joined by Donal Skehan (donalskehan.com), Caroline Hennesy (bibliocook.com) and Imen McDonnell (marriedanirishfarmer.com) in a lively panel discussion on the whys and hows of food blogging.
To kick off the evening, blogger turned cookbook author Donal Skehan will give the inside track on food photography and styling, while cookbook author and editor Aoife Carrigy will advise on recipe development and editing.
The panel will then discuss the recent popularity of food blogging; the many related rewards - from the support of an active food blogging community and the possibility of new career directions to foodie invites and freebies; and the many challenges, expected and otherwise - from the self-motivation and technical maintenance to the murky ethics of foodie invites and freebies! Each of this experienced panel will share the tips they wish they had known when setting out on their food blogging adventure.
This event is part of a series ‘The Kitchen Archive’ that focuses on how recipes and culinary skills have been communicated through the centuries in Ireland.
