Glasnevin Cemetery Museum is both the guardian and storyteller for more than 1.5 million people. From the ordinary to the truly extraordinary, these people helped to shape the Ireland of today. In 2010 we opened our museum to share their stories and times. Now visitors can go on a tour of the cemetery, visit our museum and search all of our genealogical records online. Mervyn Colville is Deputy CEO and was responsible for overseeing the digital scanning of over 600,000 burial records which, added to the existing records, totals over 1.5 million records. These archive registers give invaluable genealogical information from 1828 to the present and include many records from (1828-1900) that were destroyed in the Civil War.
