Sources of Inspiration: Echoland with Joe Joyce

Sources of Inspiration: Echoland with Joe Joyce

Wednesday 26 April at 6.30pm

Join author Joe Joyce for an informal discussion around the sources from the National Library’s collections that inspired Echoland.

We look forward to welcoming Joe to the NLI for this special event when he will  discuss how he as an author used material from the NLI collections in his research for Echoland. He will also consider the issue of censorship during the period of the novel.

Dublin: One City, One Book is an award-winning Dublin City Council initiative, led by Dublin City Public Libraries, which encourages everyone to read a book connected with the capital city during the month of April every year. This year’s choice is Echoland by Joe Joyce which is set in the very heart of Dublin city and features many of its landmarks, while also being an incredibly interesting insight into life in the Capital during the Emergency.

All welcome. Admission Free. Booking not necessary
For the full programme of events, check the One City, One Book website.
