The Science of World War 1

The Science of World War 1

Monday 14 November at 7pm

Speakers: Lar Joye, Curator of Irish Military History and Dr. Jennifer Edmond

As part of Science Week 2016, we have  partnered with Science Foundation Ireland for this public lecture as part of the programme associated with our ongoing exhibition:  World War Ireland: Exploring the Irish Experience.

Science and Engineering impacted on World War I in many ways, from tanks to poison gas and flamethrowers. War is known to accelerate innovation and invention, but the Great War spawned new advances in other areas of Science that still impacts our lives today. Join Lar Joye, curator of Irish Military History at the National Museum of Ireland and Dr. Jennifer Edmond for an evening event where the Science of World War I will be discussed, and how current technology allows us to access historical resources.

Booking not required. All welcome!
