Now a significant date in Dublin’s annual literary calendar The Franco-Irish Literary Festival is preparing for its fourteenth edition continuing the tradition that led to Dublin’s nomination as a UNESCO City of Literature. This year the festival promises to be very special due to The Gathering Ireland 2013 and the Irish Presidency of the EU.
Our aim is to celebrate European cultural connections with Ireland, to encourage the discovery of Irish and other European literature and to promote the rich variety of languages through readings in Irish, English, French and German. We will also welcome Belgian, Czech and Romanian writers. Our theme this year is: Love and hurt – L’amour, la blessure – Grá agus Gortú. There will be four round-table discussions:
- Searching for love
- Love and hurt
- Wounded self
- Starting anew
All events are open to the public – Admission free – Interpretation (English and French) provided. Booking is not required.
