Accessing Music

Access to the music collections is open to all holders of a Reader's Ticket (see Readers' Tickets).

Access to the manuscript and rare printed music collections is through the Reading Room of the Department of Manuscripts which is situated on the second floor of 2-3 Kildare Street (see Opening Hours).

Music PAL

The National Library is a member of the Music PAL scheme which is designed to facilitate greater access to music resources available across a broad range of libraries and archives throughout Ireland. Those who wish to access these music collections can apply for a Music PAL Access Card .

Those who wish to consult the National Library’s music collections (including holders of a Music PAL Access Card) must  also hold a current reader's ticket for the National Library.
