Hello Vivien. Apologies for slow reply. Thank you (on Felix's behalf). I would hope we'll be hearing from him again soon here on our NLI blog. Thanks for the tip on Clonbrock House. Hadn't read it, but I'm sure you know we have a great collection of early photos taken by various members of the Dillon family at Clonbrock House and in the surrounding Ahascragh area. That "snowy one" is quite representative of their quality, photographically and socially. With regard to the portrait, will come back to you asap with further information...

Lovely piece. And the illustrations are great.

Do I see two guys hanging out of Nelson's Pillar practising to clean the Spike?

There was something very refreshing about the way you presented your feature on The Dead. I loved the illustrations. Where is the Sean O'Sullivan portrait of James Joyce? I remember there used to one at the Martello Tower in Sandycove and it vanished!

I will now remember all the statues in Sackville Street! Thanks for that. I think that you should continue to contribute your work on Joyce.

For your information, there is an interesting history of Clonbrock house included in Mark Bence Jone's book 'A Guide to Irish Country Houses'.
